Private Residence at Meanus, Killorglin
PLM Architects
PLM Architects have designed a wonderfully odd combination of cutting edge style and cow shed in Co. Kerry.
The house references the oxide corrugated roofs and wet dash render of the former tenant cottages that predominate in the area. Projecting walls shelter an entrance courtyard from the prevailing south westerly’s from Dingle Bay, which also serve to form a protected courtyard that frames views of Carrantuohill Mountain.
The busy clients required a maintenance free home, and the materials chosen reflect this aspiration, through the use of polished concrete internally and externally, powder coated aluminum, steel and natural lime pigmented wet dash render.
