This week in the news section of the Irish Home Show podcast, I discussed the lastest study from comparison website, Switcher.ie. They’ve announced the results of “Ireland’s Best Towns to Work From Home”.
They compared towns across Ireland for their broadband and 5G access, plus a host of other variables such as access to gyms, leisure and outside spaces, schools, GPs and amenities, and house prices.
Top 10 towns and cities to work from home in Ireland – 2022
The top five were:
- Castlebar
- Leixlip
- Navan
- Galway
- Longford
- Gorey
- Clonmel
- Mallow
- Portmarnock
- Sligo
Best Places to Keep Fit And Healthy
They also compared the top 5 towns for Healthy Lifestyles which included: Gorey, Malahide, Castlebar, Longford and Ballina. These towns had a higher number of gyms, leisure centres and parks per 1,000 people in the town.
Best Place to Work From Home With A Family
The best places to work form home with a family, areas with good schools, GP surgeries and low crime, included: Castlebar, Arklow, Midletown, Cobh and Enniscorthy.
Worst Places to Live (for Broadband and 5G)
Unfortunately some towns had to be last on the list. For the towns with the worst broadband and 5G access, they found were:
- Shannon
- Cobh
- Celbridge
- Skerries
- Tullamore
