RIAI Public Choice Award – Studio Red Architects

Every day this week we are highlighting the best residential nominees for this year's Irish Architect Awards in the RIAI People's Choice Awards. Today we head out to the country to a wonderful farmhouse extension to replace some existing old sheds with a stunning haven.

Farmhouse Extension

Studio Red Architects

This is a really exciting one today. Not a standalone house, but a conversion of a former shed in the grounds of a period country farmhouse by a lake to provide additional accommodation.

We even get the pleasure of a Before and After:

Studio Red’s commentary modestly says:

Our proposal incorporates a new ‘shed’, set off the existing house, which opens new views through the house and site, whilst recalling some of the materials, agricultural detailing and characteristics of the original buildings.
