When you think of Stillorgan Village, what comes to mind? Tesco, Dunnes or Donnybrook Fair? Starbucks, Eddie Rockets or McDonalds? The Odeon or the Leisureplex (RIP)? The area is packed full of amenities and attractions but being an area of South Dublin firmly inland, sea views is probably not one of them. Especially not from the bedrooms of a four bedroom family home. But the latest new build homes in Stillorgan Grove, just the other side of the N11 from Stillorgan Village have a surprise in store.
Going Up, Up, Up
Indeed, the views even took the developer by surprise. When Corbett Construction bought the site in 2016 from Churches Estate Agents, it was a dilapidated old house on an awkward site, hidden away from the main road by trees. With some clever design and sympathetic planning, they were granted planning for four houses and three apartments.
It was only when they topped out the roof level earlier this year they realised each of the three-storey homes had a stunning view over the treetops of Blackrock and out across Dublin Bay. Each of the master ensuite bedrooms at the front of each four bed home has a view of the sea, with No.4 Brookside being the star of the show with a perfect view of Howth’s Kish Lighthouse visible across the rooftop of St. John’s Church in Blackrock Village.
A New Level Of New Homes
The finished product is worth a look from top to bottom. Brookside Blackrock has the first three four-bed houses completed and ready for the first open viewing on Sunday 24th November.
Each provides four generous double bedroom with two ensuites, family bathroom and downstairs guest WCs. Fantastically, every bathroom in each house has a different pattern of bathroom tile, making each of these houses truly bespoke.
Bedrooms are finished with high quality timber-laminate flooring and many include double aspect corner windows with excellent views of the leafy Blackrock streets.
Fully Loaded, Fully Finished
Uniquely, the developers have completed each of these new houses with everything done for you, from flooring downstairs, bathroom tiles and fittings (right down to the mirrors), carpet on the stairs and landing, and fully fitted kitchens with appliances and island units.
Ground floors include an impressive front hall with storage and guest WC, a spacious living room and kitchen, with living areas opening up onto the gardens via full-height glass doors.
Each garden is paved with a matching stone tile to the kitchen, seamlessly bringing your living space outdoors. The rest of the outside space is finished with landscaped borders and low-maintenance artificial grass. Gardens are all south facing and surprisingly private. Adjacent land is open space owned by the council and will be finished with planting of mature trees and borders.
