While our last House of the Day was a strong contender for the best views in Dublin, today’s has to be a good shot at the best views in Co. Cork… and for a far more affordable price tag.
8 Harbour Hill, Cobh
Although from the outside this doesn’t look like much, this 1840s three-storey terrace has a interesting history. Once the residence of the Sardinian Consul to Ireland (yes, that was a thing…), the clue of where it sits is in the name.
This is actually a 4 bedroom house with large living rooms, but inside the condition has seen better days.
So has the decor… that purple sofa!
The selling agent suggests it could be a good B&B. It’s in a good location for the main town and wharf area of Cobh, one of the most beautiful historic villages in Ireland.
But the real reason why this is our House of the Day…
The view from the top floor bedroom:
This stunning panorama takes in the full reach of Cork Harbour, including Haulbowline and Spike Islands, plus the colourful rooftops of Cobh itself. Glorious.
